Intercultural Learning Through Art and Volunteering

This project will take place in Minsk (Belarus) and will last one year. There will be two participants from Spain. The service dates will be from the first week of September 2014 until the first week of September 2015 (One year).
The host organization will be » Belarusian Youth Public Union New Faces» . Motivation and interest in artistic and cultural activities will be key to carry out the planned activities adequately . The project will be developed in the sending organization and a contemporary art gallery ( Gallery » Y») . Lectures, seminars , workshops and awareness on social issues activities will be managed and implemented for the local community. Also, initiatives to disseminate the program through presentations and via Internet . Events will also be held at the gallery (management of cultural activities and exhibitions). The activities will be supervised by the staff of the host organization and the artistic director of the Art Gallery . The participants will attend a Russian language course and will also be able to teach their own language or arrange some other personal project. It is expected that through volunteering activities , an interest in the local population will be generated, participating actively in the community, the organization and within the program itself. For the participants it will be a lifetime experience that will allow them to expand their own vision of reality , and a great opportunity to develop an activity that can be of much advantage for their future career .
